Carnival Sails with Microboards

“Our passengers want photo souvenirs of their cruise while they’re still onboard, and we need reliable, durable equipment to meet that need,” said Ron Bernstein of Intellysis, which installs the onboard equipment. “After all, we can’t send out easily for repairs. Microboards has been working with disc recording technology for longer than any other manufacturer in the industry, building the first CD duplicator and the first DVD duplicator on the market. We prefer working with manufacturers that have that kind of expertise in their field.”

The Microboards DVD duplicator supports both CD and DVD copying in a single device, and supports the highest recording speeds available. In addition to duplication equipment, Microboards provides equipment for printing on the disc and for complete, automated disc publishing.

Carnival Corporation will produce over 80 million images this year, in addition to helping vacationing clients with digital content that they generate throughout the voyage.

"With Microboards' well-known printing and duplication products, we will be able to efficiently manage and share that digital content," said Bernstein. The MS Maasdam of Carnival's Holland America line was the first ship to install the minilab system. An additional 18 to 20 systems will be installed on other ships, each with up to three onboard minilabs.
